(after swirling) good balance of fruit and oak, typical Barossa and not in the over-ripe end



P: chewy tannins with gentle extract





2005 The Futures Shiraz

N: continued on nose with classic Barossa Shiraz chocolate and dark plum with hints of vanillin oak; more concentrated, see another dimension of ripe leafy, cedar oak, some spices and freshness



P: the structure is tight with firm tannin, slightly grippy though;



Finish with mocca, dark choco, toffee, M+





2003 Eight Songs Shiraz

A: garnet, dense



N: ripe red berry, mint, pepper, spices; sweet smoky meat oak





First hint of bottle development: soy sauce and a bit port-like



P: pencil shaving, malt butterscotch, soy sauce, black olive on palate with a mint twist;



Well-structured, grippy front palate with bitty chewy tannin, drying to the end;



Nice and soft finish although lack of primary fruit or freshness than expected





2002 Stonewell Shiraz

A: intense black centre with garnet rim



N: complex bouquet of blackcurrant, anise seed, cooked vegetable, mint and some tarry character;



Good depth and freshness



P: muscular mid-palate with layers of flavours: blackberry, tar, smokiness, dark-chocolate, black olive and some rancio;



Fine-grained bitty even chewy tannin, excellent tannin management;



Finish long with Slight warmth touch;





1996 The King AD 2017 Fortified

(blend of 53% Touriga Nacional, 30% Shiraz , 17% Cab/Sav)



N: Touriga stands out with fresh red-curranty, raisiny, vanilla scent; some developed soy sauce mixed with yeasty (vegemite), cooked vege melt by clean Brandy (hearts)



P: a complex mix of nut, cheese, raisin, spicy, pepper, and mixed spices



Silky tannins carry through a smooth palate with medium+ finish, slightly cloying in the end;





2008 Princess Moscato

C: ripe Muscat , almost to the musky end, cloying finish’
